The dry run of India has been stopped by Malik and her Bronze gave a real relief to Indian government also as this year the nation has sent the largest number of contingent to Olympics.
The Prime Minister himself has met all the participants before the competition got started. The showing of PM’s support would go in vain if India would not make up for a single medal.
By far India has won 26 medals too less if we consider the population and its appearances in Olympics since 20th century.
Malik’s first success as a professional wrestler in the international arena came in 2010 at the Junior World Championships where she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg freestyle event. At the 2014 Dave Schultz International Tournament, she won gold in the 60 kg category.
