History created by Indian women
Dipa karmakar created a big history and became the first Indian woman gymnast to qualify for Olympics. The 22 year old create a total score of 52.698 points in the Olympics qualifying event in Rio games.
The International Federation of Gymnastics has confirmed Dipa’s for Rio games. Till this date form independence of country, 11 male gymnasts take a part in the Olympics but this will be first Indian women at the Olympics.
Dipa karmakar has been listed in the 79 gymnast. And also became individual qualifier in the list of women gymnastics who have qualified in Rio Olympics.
Also this tripura girl secured 13.366 and 12.566 points in beam and floor exercises.
An international referee Deepak kagra, said after fabulous performance of Dipa that “it was certain that she would qualify for Rio Olympics.”
Also he added it was very good score from dipa and they are happy for she get qualified. And good news is that whole gymnastics community is proud of for Dipa’s achievements.
This girl created history by becoming the first women gymnast to win a medal and a bronze in the commonwealth games in Glasgow in 2014.
