Wish you all a very happy baisakhi

This is also known as a Vaishakhi, Baisakhi, Khalsa sirjana DIvas and Vasakhi. Its big festival for Punjabi’s because Punjabi new year falling on the Vaishakh which is first month of Hindu calendar. It is on 13 april. Main reason for celebrating of this festival is its birth of Khalsa in 1699.

The khalsa is the collective body of all initiated Sikhs and called the Guru Panth. Baisakhi festival is celebrated as a Sikh New Year and day of the founding of Khalsa panth.

                This festival began with Guru Teg Bahadur who was beheaded ninth Sikh guru by the Aurungzeb, the Mughal ruler. Aurungzed wanted to spread islam dharm in whole india and Guru Tegh Bahadur stood up for the rights of Hindus and Sikhs and the Mughals.

                After the death of Guru Teg Bahadur, his son Guru Gobind Singh became the next Guru of the Sikhs. And Guru Gobind Singh wished to instill courage and strength to sacrifice his fellow men. To become his dream true, Guru Gobind Singh called on the historic Baisakhi Day Celebration.

Tussi Hasde yo sanu hasaan vaaste
Tussi rone yo saanu rovaan vaaste
Ek vaar rus ke ta vekho sohneyo
Marr javange tuhanu manaan vaaste.
Baisakhi da din hai khushiyan manaan vaaste.
Baisakhi diyan vadhiyan.
